Diamonds & Acorns Cross Body Bag

Updated: Nov 2, 2020

I decided to have a go at using the squares on the diagonal to get a diamond effect. While on a walk I found some acorns on the floor and to give the bag an Autumnal feel I thought a crochet version would make a lovely embellishment.

Strange choice of colours - I had a couple of 500g cones of Woolyknit Yarn2cone Merino knocking about, in Cerceta Green (Spanish for Teal - who knew!) and bronze. I think the colours work perfectly for an autumnal project. It knits to a 4 ply so I had a few practice rows first to get it to the thickness I wanted.

The pattern is here on my website along with videos on how to do the joins using Double Butterfly Twist.

I m realy pleased with the way the bag has turned out. It was a bit tricky for me to initially piece it together, but I made lots of notes, took lots of pictures and hopefully the diagrams I made make sense to someone!

The acorns were crocheted for me by my friend Deana, I did try myself but they came out looking rather rude!

Looms and i-cord maker available on this website!
